According to a press release from Salmon City Police Chief Terry Stratton, members of the Lemhi County Narcotic Enforcement Taskforce (LCNET) stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on May 9th, 2026. The vehicle was occupied by Stephanie Mack and Steven Jones. LCNET was aware that Mack had felony warrants and was allegedly transporting methamphetamine into the Salmon area from the Boise area.
Mack was arrested on the outstanding felony warrant. It was then determined that both Mack and Jones were on felony probation. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine in Mack’s purse.
Jones appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine. He was administered a field sobriety test then transported to Steele Memorial Hospital for a blood test. He was released pending the results.
Stephanie Mack was booked into the Lemhi County Jail for the felony warrant and possession of methamphetamine.
Although these individuals are accused of a crime, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
